Huff & Puff
Huff & Puff recovery is one of the services that FloCO2 provides. It is a three step process that is best on wells that have had high production in the past with a concentration of oil at the well bore that no other substance can reach. It is also a good solution for wells that are low pressure with thick, tar-like oil. The CO2 acts as a solvent to loosen the oil.
First, we pump a large amount of CO2 into the well bore. The CO2 is then allowed to soak into the oil for a period of time. This allows the CO2 to absorb and swell on the oil which loosens it. The final step is to open the well back up and bring it back into production.
